Skin Classic acne treatment w/ dermaplaning

Skin Classic high frequency for treating acne cysts. Our f12 probe barely touched the skin. Sebum is attracted to the high frequency and comes through the pore. The probe is then inserted into the pore not the skin and stretched so that any material coming up through the pore will have a path of least resistance. This reduced scarring.

Anorexia Nervosa Treatment

The treatment for anorexia nervosa is often difficult and can take a long time. Some patients improve much slower then others do with many relapses during the recovery process. The treatment can be subdivided into immediate or long term anorexia treatment.

The immediate concerns of most people who present with anorexia nervosa is always low weight, nutrition balance and complications (like organs failure) due to long term starvation. All these have to be addressed first before long term psychological treatment can begin.

Some people who are a danger to themselves because they refuse to eat have to be hospitalized until they gain enough body weight to maintain their life. Many of these patients will need to have intravenous injections of highly nutritious products to replace their nutritional losses. If attempts to feed them fail they may need a tube inserted into their stomach to improve their nutritious status. The lengths of these treatments can vary depending on how the patients progress.

Long time psychological treatment should start while in the hospital. A team of professionals are normally involved including psychologists, counselors, social workers, nutritionists and medical doctors.

The team has to be very supportive and cooperative in their attempts to persuade the sufferer to take the treatment seriously and understand the importance of it. Many patients have to be forced into treatment against their desires (like emergency and life saving situations due to starvation and organs failure). This can hamper the sufferer’s willingness for treatment in the first instance; but by building a trusting and supportive relationship with a patient over time can help to breakdown this barrier.

Psychotherapy starts when a trusting relationship with the patient has been established. A number of issues have to be addressed: body image, anxiety, depression, fears, eating habits and other concerns. The most difficult one is the body image issue because the person is absolutely obsessed with being thin and staying thin. Putting on weight which is crucial for recovery can become a major fear for the sufferer that is difficult to overcome.

Personality issues, coping strategies, relationship problems – all have to be looked at in the therapy sessions with the patient.

Lots of people improve by the time of their discharge from the hospital but the treatment for anorexia nervosa should not finish there. Relapses at home after hospitalization is extremely common, over 95% of all sufferers have some kind of problem. Actually much more people do relapse than those who do not, a scary statistic for the sufferer.

And here is where research has shown that family therapy and home treatments should be the first choice of help after leaving the hospital or clinic.

Research has shown now that if a person does not have good home support and family involvement in their treatment, the person has a very slim chance for recovery.

Many parents and family members have no idea what it is they are supposed to do to help: what they should say to the sufferer and what they should not. Most uninformed family members still think that all the sufferer has to do is eat, and everything will be okay: but of course this is totally wrong.

Also family members do not know what kind of atmosphere in the house they should create to support the sufferer and make her/him understand that recovery is possible. It is here that most sufferers relapse because they are normally left to their own devices, simply because no one else has the slightest idea of what to do.

Crohn’s Disease Treatment

Crohn’s disease is a disease that can lead to inflammation anywhere along the digestive tract from the mouth to the anus. Compared to a condition known as ‘ulcerative colitis’, which can affect only the interior part of the digestive tract; Crohn’s Disease can include all the layers of the intestinal wall. The IBD or Inflammatory Bowel Disease is comprised of two types of diseases-Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. Crohn’s disease may also be called ileitis or enteritis.

The symptoms of Crohn’s disease include:
• Stomach pain and cramps
• Bloody stool
• Mucus in the stool
• Diarrhea
• Loss of appetite
• Digestive Tract Ulceration
• Fever

Cause of Crohn’s Disease:
IBD is known to be an idiopathic disease (disease with no known cause) and Crohn’s Disease is also an IBD disease. This disease is known to be hereditary and has been particularly seen in people who hail within the Jewish descent. However, most people with IBD do not seem to have family history of the disease in particular. Some doctors believe that given the nature of the IBD being an auto immune disease, the symptoms of Crohn’s Disease are nothing but an allergic response.

This means the body’s immune system confuses bacteria and food as foreign substances(antigens) and attacks them. Due to this, the white blood cells begin to collect in the intestines, leading to chronic inflammation and bowel injury. Three factors have been singled out, the immune system of the patient, the environment and of course, the genes.

Blood tests are done to find out the extent of IBD, especially with regard to white blood cell counts and red blood cell. The blood tests an also be used to measure electrolyte levels of potassium and magnesium, to find out if these important minerals have been evacuated due to continuous diarrhea.

Since Crohn’s Disease is similar to many types of intestinal disorders like ulcerative colitis and irritable bowel syndrome, it can be tough to diagnose the condition. Ulcerative Colitis can lead to inflammation in the upper layer of the large intestine layer. In Crohn’s Disease, however, all layers of the intestine can be affected. You may just find a healthy bowel lost among sections of impaired bowel.

Crohn’s Disease Treatment
A variety of medication can be used as treatment to Crohn’s Disease The medications that are administerd usually fall into two categories: fast acting drugs to put a halt to the flare-ups and maintenance drugs to continuously avoid the flare-up from happening.

Cortisone or Steroids. Cortisone drugs and steroids together known as corticosteriods—provide very efficient results. Prednisone is a regular generic name of one of the drugs in this group of medications. It is administered in large dose when the disease is at its worst and then the dosage is lowered once symptoms have been controlled; because they can cause a lot of side-effects.
.
Immune System Suppressors. Some of the medications in this immune suppressing groups are 6-mercaptopurine or a related drug, azathioprine. Immunosuppressive agents work by thwarting the immune reaction that leads to inflammation. These drugs do lead to side effects like like nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea and may reduce a person’s resistance to infection.. SO if the Crohn’s disease patient is treated with a combination of When of corticosteroids and immunosuppressive drugs, the dose of corticosteroids may ultimately be lowered.

Anti-Inflammation Drugs. Measalamine is one of the drugs that is used to treat patients first to control inflammation. The most commonly used rug is known as . Sulfasalazine. Possible side effects of mesalamine-containing drugs include nausea, vomiting, heartburn, diarrhea, and headache.

Infliximab (Remicade). The U.S. Food and Drug Administration gave green signal to the Infliximab as the drug for the treatment of moderate to severe Crohn’s disease that does not react to standard therapies (mesalamine substances, corticosteroids, immunosuppressive agents) and as a remedial treatment for open, draining fistulas. There is still additional research going with this drug. Remicade may offer to help people with Crohn’s disease.

Antibiotics. If there is a bacterial overgrowth due to fistula, stricture etc, antibiotics are used to treat them. The physician may prescribe one or more of the following antibiotics: ampicillin, sulfonamide, cephalosporin, tetracycline, or metronidazole.

Anti-Diarrheal and Fluid Replacements. Diarrhea and crampy abdominal pain are usually treated when the inflammation reduces but in some cases the doctor may give additional treatment in the form of anti-diarrheal and fluid replacements like diphenoxylate, loperamide, and codeine. Patients who are dehydrated due to diarrhea can be administered fluids and electrolytes.

Surgery is also an option for Crohn’s Disease. In fact 70 percent of people with Crohn’s Disease go for surgery in the first ten years following the diagnosis. The most common type of surgery is ‘resection’ where the impaired part of the intestine is surgically removed.

All About Anorexia Nervosa – Signs, Symptoms and Treatment

Anorexia nervosa is an illness that affects mostly teenage girls, but cases of anorexia have been encountered at elder women and men also. In short words, those with anorexia intentionally starve themselves in order to lose weight, and the main problem is that they continue to starve themselves even after losing a lot of weight, which greatly endangers their health and can lead them to die of starvation eventually, if they are not stopped.

It usually begins in the puberty, and its main cause is nervous-based. Modern society’s beauty standards consider slim to be beautiful and many people think fat is ugly and disgusting, so girls try to do anything they can to be as slim as possible, and they take this obsession too far. Although the hunger causes them pain and suffering , those with anorexia pretend that they are not hungry and they do everything they can to get more and more thin. Their image of their own body becomes distorted and they see themselves as fat all the time.

Anorexia can threaten the life if starvation continues for a longer period. It can seriously affect the heart and heart rate and lead to heart failure, or it can cause osteoporosis to appear because the bones can be weakened if they are not supplied with the minerals that they need. In the women’s case anorexia leads to amenorrhoea, and in men’s case to the loss of potency.

Furthermore, in some cases it can also affect the temporal lobe of the brain, which starts to malfunction if the body does not gain enough minerals.

In order to help those with anorexia you must first discover that they suffer from it. Since their own image over their bodies is distorted they are not aware that they have an illness that needs to be treated, and they will refuse to belive it if you tell them. Those with anorexia nervosa can be spotted by the following symptoms:

-they are obsessed with losing weight, they talk about diets and losing weight all the time

-they refuse to eat a meal when you offer them one, by making up fake reasons such as they are not hungry or they just ate

-even though they are very slim they continue to do a lot of physical exercise and try to lose more weight

-some of them can go further, and each time they eat they force themselves to vomit right after, or they overuse laxatives to empty their stomach

The treatment for those with anorexia consists in making them gain weight and eat so they can re-establish the body’s balance. Most of them refuse to admit they have a problem so they must be forced to do it. Besides this, psychiatric treatment is needed, in order to make the patients realize that they have a problem and that in fact it’s all in their head that they are not thin enough.

There are many non-profit organizations designed to help those with anorexia overcome their problem, so seeking help from one of them is recommended.

Acne Scars – Cause, Prevention And Treatment

Acne affects as much as 80% of teenagers and others in their
early twenties, while most get out with only a few minor acne
scars, some even without any at all; there is also a notable
percentage that suffers from acne scars.

There are two types of skin problems caused by acne that can be
recognized as acne scars, one is the red pigmentation that
appears after acne has healed. These contrary to popular belief,
are not scars, rather, these are post-inflammatory lesions which
occurs as the acne heals, and these can be present for up to
6-12 months. If however the pigmentation that you see lasts
longer than the said period, you may be facing acne scars.

Acne scars come from connective tissue that the body uses to
repair damage done to a certain area. Together with antibodies
and white blood cells, they work together to heal the wound.
After the healing process, you are left with a scar.

Acne scars can develop as long as acne is present, so one good
form of prevention is actually preventing acne. However, Acne
scars can also be prevented even with the presence of acne. This
is done by facilitating the healing of the acne, the faster it
heals, the shallower the acne scar will be, making it easier to
treat, or may need no treatment at all.

There are two dermatologically tested ways to facilitate the
healing of acne, one is the use of Tretinoin, it’s a form of
vitamin A, which speeds up the skin’s healing and renovation
process shortening the inflammation period, thus preventing Acne
scars.

The other treatment used by most dermatologists for Acne scar
prevention is the use of Aplpha-Hydroxy Acids of AHA’s and
Beta-Hydroxy Acids or BHA’s. These help the skins remodeling
process, with the right concentration and proper application;
these can also prevent acne scars.

Without the complicated chemicals and difficult dermatological
treatments, you can also help prevent acne scars by treating
your skin righteously. Avoid sun exposure, this can cause even
more skin damage and may hamper the healing process of your
skin. Wear sunscreen that has SPF 15 or higher. Picking at scabs
never helped either. Never pick on acne as it heals; it
interferes with the healing process and might worsen the
resulting acne scar.

Of course, not even the most rigorous person can prevent acne
scar, with the stress of everyday life, facial and other skin
problems are really hard to avoid, there are however treatments
available for acne scars, here are some of them.

Dermal Fillers Collagen or other fillers are injected into the
acne scar to raise is just a bit, so that it will be the same
level as your skin, these treatments aren’t permanent though.
They mostly last 3-6 months and you’ll need additional
injections after that.

Punch Excision This method is effective for some types of scars.
It includes the surgical tool that matches the size of the scar;
it can be compared to a cookie dough cutter. This tool cuts the
scar out and the remaining wound is then sewed back together.
The resulting scar will be unnoticeable, but if it is, it’ll be
easier for laser resurfacing to treat it. Other types of this
treatment include the use of skin grafts.

Laser Resurfacing Laser resurfacing is a very popular and fast
treatment for acne scars. Laser resurfacing basically works by
burning a measure upper layer of the skin, and then letting it
heal, leaving a newer looking skin. However, care must be taken
after the procedure; the correct post operative procedure
determines the success of the operation

Natural Treatment to Crohn?s Disease

I have written a large number of articles on a wide range of Alternative Medical cures. But I had no answer when a particular person wrote to me asking about a few Natural cures to Crohn’s disease. And since the person wasn’t that lucky on the internet I got a bit curious and did a little research to see what I could find.

Everything the person found was confusing and had complicated medical words and names. So he felt I could break the magic spell and turned to me to clear his doubt.

Please keep in mind I am not a doctor. But I have learnt a lot being associated to the medical profession. And when people ask me something I don’t like dejecting them or their helplessness and so I help them.

He told me about all the symptoms he had, the vicious stomach cramps with stints of sickness and diarrhea. Another horrifying thing was the great loss of blood from his rear and also the way his weight dropped. The more I started thinking about it the more horrifying it felt and sounded.

My research did take me somewhere, after hours of browsing I came across a site that kind of had answers. The write up was to the point and assured the readers that the writer herself suffered from this disease.

She accepts that she hasn’t cured it completely, but is now living a normal life. In the early days she was really scared of eating because she knew it would go straight through her and that she would also have to frequent the toilet.

She also listed out many other side effects because of the lack of nutrients. But she wasn’t getting the nutrients that the food should have been giving her because the food did not stay long enough in her body.

She also said that she reworked her diet after considering what was right for her. Many of the thank you testimonials on her site sounded good and true but for all we know could be fake as well. And so to help the person who wrote to me I passed on details of this lady and her website.

For more information on what nutrition and diet changes to make for digestive conditions like Crohn’s Disease

www.CrohnsHelp.com has hundreds of articles written on the topic of fighting back against Crohn’s Disease through proper Crohn’s Disease diet and nutrition.
